The Welsh actor even reprised the role in The CW's 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' Arrowverse crossover event, despite it not only being a completely different universe from Lucifer, but also technically different networks, save for Warner Bros.
Initially only running for three seasons on Fox, both the show and Ellis' popularity in the role led to Netflix saving the show from cancelation and enjoying further success for three more seasons. Though having already worked consistently in the industry for 15 years prior, Ellis became a household name thanks to his turn as Lucifer Morningstar in the eponymous DC Vertigo show adaptation.
